Perrine’s Bridge in Esopus, NY holds a special place in my heart. I grew up a few short miles from it, and I have fond memories of visiting it with my grandfather, and also with my own parents and siblings.

The day that I shot the one of the bridge at night started with reminiscing and catching up with relatives in Maryland, at a tough time in their lives. I then headed to New York to stay with a friend for a while while I work on my photos and explore the next stage of my life. So, I was really happy to get this photo of such a special place, to symbolize not only family memories, but excitement to spend a significant amount of time, as an adult, in the area I grew up in. It helped that it was such a beautiful night out, and I hope the photo captures my feelings the way I wanted it to.

A few days after the night photo, and a very pretty snow storm, I headed out to take one of the same shot during the day. Hopefully I’ll get some more with different lighting and weather conditions.

George Washington Bridge

I recently found this photo in my collection, while sorting and organizing old photos. It’s not the most original composition by any means, but I’m happy with how it came out, especially considering how overcast it was. If you look closely, you’ll see that it is a color photo! I bet you thought it was black and white.
