I did not intend to spend as much time in Manhattan this year as I have, but, when an old friend of mine called and asked me to do some photo work to promote the new Icon apartment building I decided that it was an opportunity that I should not turn down. My penchant for abandoned buildings is well documented, but this was just the opposite. I got to explore an apartment building that was completely empty, as no one has lived in it yet. It was fascinating in its own way.
Over a couple of visits we covered photos of many of the views, shot some time lapses, and got the job done. The photos I took for the real estate company belong to them, but every so often I took a breather to shoot some of my own shots for fun, and I would like to share a few of them here.
Also, the Daily News wrote an article about the building, and used one of my photos on the website, and two in print. Check out the article online by clicking here!

Two of my photos made the centerfold of the Daily News - including the prominent one of the building

The photo credit says it all - I shot both of these photos

I spent lots of time in the subway

A little too artistic for a real estate company's needs...this is 8th Avenue from the 42nd floor balcony

View from the pre-open party in the penthouse on July 4th

Even the view from my friends' place where I organized the photos is pretty good.
Congrats John. Photos looks awesome, what a great view. It’s always nice to see your work in print. Maybe the exposure will lead to future work.
So awesome!! Congrats John!!!
